The Dead Have Streets, Too

Utopia

Arcacia

Hillside

Hillslope...

Where?

Next corner

Make a right turn

Then, left turn

Look on the curve

That is “Moji”

The new member’s street

One plot down the street...

“Yes”

Plot of six feet deep; ten feet long; four feet wide

The new member’s everlasting street and abode.

Irony of Death

Children, young adult, the elderly

Middle aged pastor

Contemporary ministers

Friends, colleagues

Sympathetic glances to the children

Contemptuously sad sisters and brothers

Grand mother placid

Father preceded; stepfather consoles

Mother eulogizes

Mother reminiscences

A new life

fragile, tiny on her first touch

Happy faces with broad smiles

Grown, big

still, lifeless on her last touch

A stream of tears and anguish

Roles have changed

Death has visited.
